Habits of Highly Success Real Estate Listing Agents
I have read numerous books on successful real estate habits. And they have good solid information on how to be a successful real estate agent. For example in the famous book by Stephen R Covey – The 7 Habits of High Effective People, Covey gives a lot of good advice like: Be Proactive, Begin with the end in mind, Put first things first, Think Win/Win, Seek first to understand, then be understood, Synergize and Sharpen the Saw.
I did a quick google search and found several other traits like follow-up and prepare ahead. And if I continue searching I will find several other successful real estate habits.
If you were to ask my father who left his home when he was sixteen years old. When he left his home he had a few dollars in pockets. He built a nice real estate portfolio of rental properties. He would have said be honest with everyone, wake up early, worker harder than everyone else and with those success real estate habits, you will build wealth.
Like I said all of those success real estate habits they are all good solid info. Although after working in real estate for thirty years. They are missing a few key success real estate habits that will give you all of the wealth, status and lifestyle that you and your family deserve.
Success Real Estate Habit # 1
Work with real estate listings only. I had the good fortune of working with very successful real estate professionals. They had different business in real estate. They owned real estate brokerage business. They owned real estate lending companies. They owned real estate investment companies…
It was awesome experience working with them for years. I mentioned to my real estate boss mentor that I was going to get into real estate sales. In a throwaway comment, he said to work with real estate listings only.
I started my real estate career. I listened when my boss said to work with real estate listings. In a few short months, I was earning 5X what my salary was. My real estate listing business was very profitable compared to real estate buyers agents. I would put up a listing to the MLS. There where hundreds of real estate buyers agents that would go to work to show my listings to their buyers.
Within a few days, I would receive twenty offers. I would do one counter to the offers. The counter was to submit the best and final offer with a few other conditions. It is unfortunate that so many buyers worked very hard and have nothing to show for it. I have heard the horror stories of buyer’s agents that work with buyers for months. Sometimes driving them around for months and the buyers never buy a property.
I would close an average of three real estate listings a month working by myself. But my focus was to work with real estate listings only. You can practice this habit with a real estate success video course.
Success Real Estate Habit # 2
Do things differently – Do not be like everyone else in real estate. Everyone that gets into real estate does the same thing that everyone else does. The big brokerage houses encourage newbie real estate agents to work with first time home buyers. Or they work with for sale by owners. There are a lot of agents that work with fsbos. One FSBO property owner will be approached by over twenty real estate agents. It is not fun. Or they work expired listings. Or they farm a geographical area. Real Estate Farming to a geographical area is ridiculously expensive.
